Shallowness blues by d-minutiv Shallowness blues by d-minutiv
A very small flower shot with the help of a sigma 150/2.8 macro lens and kenko extension tubes that helped me get even closer.
I like the shallow DoF on this one. How about you?

I must say THANK YOU to both Paula a.k.a. *Voracious-Vixen for suggesting (please, check out her gallery, you'll surely be amazed), and to ^KevLewis for featuring this as Daily Deviation. It's hard for me to put it in words how I feel now :D :boogie:

Thank you all for your comments, :+fav:, honest critique and suggestions. I hope I will succed in answering all of you. :blowkiss:

Shallowness blues by ~d-minutiv Comment by *Voracious-Vixen "The shot is immaculately taken with beautiful composition, detail and focus and the contrasting colours are amazing. It makes you have such an appreciation for the beauty of nature, right down to the smallest detail. Very simple yet thoroughly engrossing." I love the shallow DOF on this! Really excellent! This shot was definitely worthy of a DD.

I have one question, though. The shading at the top...was that an actual vignette of sorts caused by the extension tube, or did you add that in post-process?

no, that's just what the background looked like - it was getting darker deeper in the shadow.
